What to do when the same user has reported me 20 times?
What do I do when the same user has given me 20 violation notices and yahoo refuses to tell me who is reporting my questions so that I can block them? Should I threaten to file a lawsuit against them so that they get scared and disclose this information to me? I know it's the same user because they always type in the same reason for each violation... like for example I will ask six different questions on 6 different topics, and they will give the same violation reason for each question.
Jane did you read my question? I explained to you how I know it's the same user.
A-Best: thats the prob with yahoo answers, i had someone do that till they deleted my 12 year old account. you can dispute any violation notice you get and if you are right their reports wont be taken as serously next time
A: accept the fact you're not wanted and go back to your middle school
A: I have had 422 accounts over 5 years. Yahoo doesnt mind that either. It is there to inflate their numbers to their stock holders.
A: are the violations getting upheld by Yahoo? If not, the user will lose the right to report violations eventually.
A: If you have any idea who it is, block them. Also, keep your q and a's hidden.
A: If Yahoo won't tell you who it is, then how do you know it's the same person?
Maybe if you make your q&A private, they won't know how to find your questions.
A: Just change your name.Or make a new profile.
A: report him?
just say , he is reporting me for no reason 20 time.
that should get him banned!
or create a new account?
minee?

A: Who are you planning to name as a defendant in the lawsuit? hellokitty007?
A: kick him in the teeth.
A: You can't threated a law suit, nice try though. It doesn't matter, if it is the same person they won't pay much attention to it. Keep your Q&A hidden. How do you know it is the same user? I didn't check but if your Q&A is hidden, it most likely IS NOT the same user.
A: How would it help you if you find out who it is?
A: I don't think you can block them and you definitely cannot file suit. You can only appeal the decision. In case you have not figured it out yet, there are a lot of vindictive nummies here on Y!A. They screw it up for all of the open minded folk.
A: Go back over your questions and see if there is one person showing up all the time - disagreeing with what ever you are posting. Otherwise - stay out of R&S - a lot of emotional people in that category.
A: You don't know who did this. The report system is automated and gives canned responses.
A: If you decide to file a class-action lawsuit, I'll jump in.
Some people need to get a life and stop reporting like crazy. It's not like Yamster pays a commission for each naughty question or answer that gets reported.
Or... DOES he??
A: block them from seeing your answers I believe you can do that??
A: Tell me now how has this disrupted your life And made it unbearable so i can find you a good Liar oops i mean Lawyer....
A: Blocking does no good.I blocked someone once and they knew I blocked them.So if they knew I blocked them then they still could look at my profile so why do it.Makes no Sense to me.They were even able to answer my questions.I do not understand blocking. What does it do anyway. It sure as heck does not block anyone from answering your questions or assessing your profile.I think it is just there to make Yahoo look important or something.
A: Is there anything in your posts that could be interpreted as snark? If not, and if your posts are decent and serious, then I can think of no reasons for your having received a score of violation notices.
QUILL
A: Ha that sucks. Maybe you should make a new acct.
A: I don't care about being reported. It's bogus anyway.
This A/Y is going to the dogs.
The dogs get all the advantages on R/S and those that are trying to use this place for good get dumped.
I don't try to figure it out. I don't have the time.
I reported an avatar with a g-string cause I don't want to see that in my face.
The rules are for some and not for others when it comes to showing butts around here. Give me a break...that's probably I got points taken from me. I really don't care.
I am really trying to be good on here. It hard when you got
A Hs taking the reign.
A: Yahoo is like the phone company, they are omnipotent. Private businesses are not democratic institutions. They do whatever they want. Just like the phone company!

A: What a silly and unthought out claim!!
YA does not as you point out identify the person who reports you!!
So how can you claim it is the same person?
surely you seem to be saying you have a persecution complex and that would mean you need to seek help!!
But I suspect that the truth simply lies in the fact that you ignore the rules you signed up to and keep posting things that breach them!!
So the ball is in your court surely - either conform to the rules or end up with your account suspended!!
So please learn a little moderation and stay with it - there is a ot to learn here and if the first thing you learn is to temper what you write then you will have gained a valuable lesson already!!
Good luck!!
A: You haven't read the Guidelines properly and are making the same mistake repeatedly. This is very easy to do with new, and even not so new, users. Since you keep breaking the same rule, various people are reporting you. It just seems like one person since it's the same rule broken over and over again. Read the Guidelines again so you can find out what you're doing wrong and you can then avoid doing it again. Otherwise, you'll continue to get reported for the same thing.

There is a link in my profile to a site that helps clarify the Guidelines. Check it out, it will help. I also suggest you search in the Forum for similar complaints. You will likely find you're not alone. You can also give a sample of your questions that have been deleted and ask for clarification as to why it got a violation. The seasoned users who patrol the Forum are very knowledgeable and eager to help YA users.
